Golden Triangle Branch

Progress Updates

  • June 20: Roofing has been completed. Interior work begins.
  • June 1: Hiring underway for branch management

Details about the Branch

  • $9,125,000 project is part of the 2014 bond program
  • 15,000-square-foot facility located at 4264 Golden Triangle
  • Collection of more than 50,000 books, DVDs, and CDs
  • Dedicated area for children’s activities and story times
  • Public computers, laptops, and WiFi
  • Makerspace offering science and technology classes, 3D printers, laser cutter, and audio/video equipment
  • One-stop customer service desk, multiple self-service stations, and automated materials sorting
  • Meeting room that seats 100 people and can be subdivided
  • Public artwork designed by local artist Sara Lovas

There will also be a Municipal Court Satellite Office included in the building. It will offer:

  • Video walk-in court
  • Payment processing
  • Document and court filings

Progress Updates

  • June 25: The selected name for the library was announced.
  • Project is heading to the bidding phase for a construction company.

Details about the Branch

  • Will be located in Council District 8 at 3851 East Lancaster Ave.
  • Will feature services, programs, books, movies and music that meet the needs of children, teenagers and their families.
  • Architects, KAI Texas, have been selected for the project.
  • Joe O’Connell has been selected to provide the public art in the space.

  • Land has been selected by the City

Details about the Branch

  • Approved in the 2018 bond.
  • Will be located in Council District 6 at the corner of McCart and Risinger
