This document is the City Manager's Proposed Budget. The final budget is scheduled to be considered by City Council on Sept. 29. Give your feedback on the City Manager's proposed budget and proposed tax rate of $0.8050 per $100 at one of two public hearings: Tuesday, Aug. 29 or Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall.


This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $35,400,918 or 7.8 percent, and of that amount $15,826,137 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

The amounts above are based on the city's originally recommended fiscal year 2017-2018 tax rate of $0.8050 per $100 of assessed valuation. The city's fiscal year 2016-2017 tax rate was $0.8350 per $100 of assessed valuation.

Additional Public Hearings

An alternate tax rate was proposed mid-process and the following information is the notice for that tax rate and corresponding budget. Give your feedback on the alternate proposed tax rate of $0.8150 per $100 and corresponding alternate budget at one of two public hearings: 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 22 or 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 in the Council Chamber at City Hall.


The alternate budget will raise more total property taxes than last year's budget by $41,495,921 or 9.1 percent, and of that amount $16,022,735 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.

The amounts above are based on the fiscal year 2017-2018 alternate tax rate of $0.8150 per $100 of assessed valuation. The city's fiscal year 2016-2017 tax rate was $0.8350 per $100 of assessed valuation.

All meetings are scheduled at City Hall, 200 Texas St.
