Office of Business Diversity

The Office of Business Diversity seeks to ensure that qualifying businesses receive the maximum possible opportunity in the city’s procurement activities – directly or indirectly – through a City Council approved ordinance.

Become a certified M/WBE

Businesses seeking to qualify as an M/WBE must meet the following criteria:

  • At least 51-percent owned by one or more minorities or women or, for a publicly owned business, at least 51-percent ownership of the stock
  • Day-to-day critical operation are controlled by one or more of the aforementioned individuals who own it
  • Businesses located within the marketplace that has been determined to be a bona fide minority or women business enterprise by the North Central Texas Regional Certification Agency (NCTRCA) or other certifying agencies that the city may deem appropriate and accepted by the City of Fort Worth.

Become a certified Small Business Enterprise (SBE)

SBEs are defined as a business concern located in the marketplace that meets the United State Small Business Administration’s definition of a small business as outlined in the Code of Federal Regulation 13 CFR 121.
