Russian films to screen at Modern

The city is partnering with the Lone Star Film Society to present a series of new Russian films at the Modern Art Museum Aug. 24-26.
The director of “Chapiteau Show,” Sergey Loban, and the director of “My Father is Baryshnikov,” Mark Drugoy, will attend the screenings.
Tickets are $8.50 and $6.50 for Modern members; $6 for Modern Reel People and Lone Star members. A festival pass is $25. Individual tickets go on sale at the Modern two hours before show time.
The film festival is arranged under the auspices of the U.S.-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission. The Fort Worth Promotion and Development Fund supported the partnership with a grant. The program is also supported by the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and others.

Movies That Matter is a quarterly film series program of the City of Fort Worth’s Human Relations Commission. It was created in 2010 as a way to create awareness in the community about human rights issues affecting people in Fort Worth and worldwide. The series presents a human rights-related film screening and moderated discussion in March, June and September. A special film screening event will be held in December to commemorate Human Rights Day.
