Fort Worth, PetSmart Charities to host mega pet adoption event

This cute Yorkie was recently adopted at one of the Fort Worth pet adoption centers at PetSmart stores.

Help give shelter pets a forever home during a mega adoption event hosted by the City of Fort Worth and PetSmart Charities. The Azle Animal Shelter, Irving Animal Care Campus and Tall Tails will also be participating.

The event will be 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 19-20 at two Fort Worth PetSmart stores: 4800 S.W. Loop 820 (I-20 at Hulen) and 2901 Texas Sage Trail (I-35W at Heritage Trace Parkway).

The adoption event has a goal of adopting 140 dogs and cats during the two-day event. Adoptable pets will be ready to charm visitors.

“Our PetSmart Charities everyday adoption centers in Fort Worth have allowed us to have these incredible venues for pet adoptions,” said Scott Hanlan, assistant code compliance director. “We’re very proud and appreciative that our community has embraced these centers and helped to save pets’ lives.”

In addition to adoptions, pet parents can take advantage of special offers during the two-day event. They can visit with pet trainers and veterinarians from Banfield Pet Hospital and get their photo taken with the newest member of the family, among other activities.

“For every pet adoption, there’s an incredible story,” Hanlan said. “And we wish for hundreds of additional adoption stories. It’s our goal to help all the animals who come through our facility to find lifelong and loving homes.”
