TARRANT COUNTY 9-1-1 EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE DISTRICT BOARD
AUTHORITY FOR CREATION AND OPERATION: The Tarrant County 9-1-1 Emergency Assistance District Board was created on April 6, 1985, by the citizens of Tarrant County through an election authorized under Article 1432d, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas. (This board is exempt by Ordinance No. 8971 from the provisions of Ordinance No. 8758 regarding nine-member boards and length of terms of service.)
COMPOSITION: Six members. Five members are voting members and one is a non-voting member. There are two members appointed by the City of Fort Worth. There is one member appointed by the City of Arlington; one by Tarrant County; one by the Mayor's Council; and one by Southwestern Bell Telephone Company.
METHOD OF APPOINTMENT: Fort Worth representatives are appointed by the City Council.
TERMS OF OFFICE: Two years or until successors are appointed.
GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES: The Board has the powers and will exercise the duties set forth in Article 1432d, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas.
MEETING TIME AND PLACE: Meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 2:00 P.M. at 2706 Texas American Bank Building.
