CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION
AUTHORITY FOR CREATION AND OPERATION: Appointments are made under the provisions of the State Civil Service Act. (This Commission is exempt by Ordinance No. 9272 from the provisions of Ordinance No. 8758 regarding 9-member boards and length of terms of service.)
COMPOSITION: Three members.
METHOD OF APPOINTMENT: The City Manager appoints the Commission members which appointment must be approved by the City Council.
TERMS OF OFFICE: Three-year staggered terms.
GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES: Serves as stipulated by the provisions of the State Civil Service Act in administering state regulations pertaining to personnel matters of the fire and police departments.
Members of the Commission are considered to be officers of the City of Fort Worth.
MEETING TIME AND PLACE: Meets on call at the Police and Fire Training Academy, 1000 Calvert Street. For agendas, please see the Boards, Commissions and Committees page.
