Air and Water Quality Section
The Air and Water Quality Section assists the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) with permitting, compliance inspections, complaint investigation, enforcement and air monitoring. The section also is responsible for monitoring and maintaining water quality in urban lakes, rivers, neighborhood creeks and storm drains.

Compliance Section
The Compliance Section provides hazardous waste disposal and environmental assessment support at city-owned and city-occupied facilities. The section also manages the city's household hazardous waste collection facility.
