This includes assessing soil and groundwater contamination issues; determining the best course of action for reclaiming sites impacted by pollution; managing city-generated hazardous waste and ensuring city compliance with state and federal laws; reducing blight by encouraging redevelopment of potentially contaminated sites; and demolishing substandard structures.
