The Executive Services Division is under the direction of Assistant Chief David L. Coble. The Division includes the Bureau of Fire Prevention, Fire Safety Education, Fire Investigation, Explosive Ordinance Disposal, Internal Affairs, Community Risk Reduction, CISM, Honor Guard, and the Chaplin’s office.
Chief Coble began his career with the Fort Worth Fire Department in October 1984 as a firefighter. He successfully advanced through the ranks of firefighter, engineer, lieutenant, and captain before his appointment to Deputy Chief in July 2009. Previous to his current command, Chief Coble was responsible for the Educational and Support Services Division including Training, Emergency Medical Services, Communications, Supply Commissary and Fire Vehicle Services. In 2013, Chief Coble was named Executive Assistant Chief and is currently working in that capacity.
Coble is a State certified Emergency Medical Technician, and holds certification with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection as a Master Firefighter, Master Fire Inspector, Fire Service Instructor II, and Hazardous Materials Technician. Additionally, he is an Emergency Medical Services Instructor and is a part of the Department's Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
A Fort Worth native, Coble is a graduate of Green B. Trimble Technical High School. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science Administration degree from Weatherford College, a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Dallas Baptist University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University – Commerce.
Chief Coble continues his commitment to education, professionalism, and the community. He is a graduate of in the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, the Carl Holmes Executive Development Institute at Clark Atlanta University, NFBPA Executive Leadership and Development Institute where he received the Governmental Excellence Award, and a graduate of Leadership Fort Worth.
Throughout his career, Chief Coble has been actively engaged in several community-based youth and non-profit organizations in the Greater Fort Worth area. Professionally, Chief Coble is a member of the following organizations: IAFC, IABPFF, ICC, IAFF, NFBPA, FPANT, BCOC, and TCFC. Locally, he is the President of Sunset Oaks HOA Board of Directors, a member of the Woodhaven Community Development Board of Directors and a board member of the Area Agency on Aging.
