Paschal High School has changed through the decades to foster new styles of learning

The first classes held at Paschal High School’s Forest Park location were in the fall of 1955. Upon opening, Paschal became the largest high school in Fort Worth.

Paschal was moved from the current Green B. Trimble Technical High School location to it present site at 3001 Forest Park Blvd. Nearly two full blocks to the east of the campus were purchased at that time. With this move, a major addition in yellow brick was constructed in front of the original building that entirely blocked the view of the school building (formerly McLean Junior High) that had stood there since 1936. This addition featured an auditorium on the south side and a gymnasium addition to the rear of the 1936 building.

In 1958, more classrooms were added to the east of the auditorium. Another free-standing gymnasium at the back of the original property and science classrooms attached to the south side of the original building were added in 1979.

This photo was taken in the 1970s.

In 1989, the facade of the school was covered by a modern addition featuring a row of classrooms along Forest Park Boulevard using concrete panels.

The last major addition came in 2002, when a new band hall and classrooms were added to the south and east of the auditorium and attached to the 1958 addition.

The auditorium, with its curving facade along Forest Park, is the only portion of the 1950s facade still visible.

The Fort Worth Library has approximately 10,000 items pertaining to the history of Fort Worth and Tarrant County. These items include city and county government documents, newspapers, directories, cemetery association records, maps as well as popular and scholarly books written by local authors or about local subjects.
