Dear Residents,

As many of you know, our offices has been in contact with Chesapeake for sometime regarding the proposed Westridge gas well drill site near the Ridglea Country Club. This site would have impacted residents in Como, Ridglea, Ridglea Hills, and Ridglea North.

Chesapeake had not obtained an adequate number of distance waivers from property owners to proceed. So, company officials had planned to ask the City Council for a waiver during tonight’s Council meeting.

However, we have learned that Chesapeake has elected to withdraw its request, and this issue will not be heard. We believe that this latest move was due to the fact that the company did not have enough waivers from property owners needed to show strong community support.

We’d like to thank those residents who continued to express their concerns and provided valuable input throughout this process.
