The City of Fort Worth's Human Resources Department offers employee assistance in the divisions of Talent Acquisition, Classification and Compensation, HRIS/Records, Organizational Development, Employee Relations, Safety, Benefits, and year-round Wellness programs. For Fort Worth residents, The Civil Rights Office, a division of Human Resources, provides information and services related to basic human rights, including enforcement of the city’s ant-discrimination ordinance and federal housing, employment, and accommodation laws.

Kristen Smith is a strategic operational leader, she is dedicated to advancing organizations by leveraging their greatest asset; people. With over 20 years of experience across public and private sectors, Smith previously served as Managing Director for the City of Garland, overseeing HR, risk management, civil service, and the CityCare employee health clinic. She holds a master’s in Human Resources Management, a bachelor’s in Business Administration, and certifications including SPHR, SHRM-SCP, CDP, and Certified Mediator.
