Non-Resident Cards
People who do not live or own property in Fort Worth, who do not qualify for a TexShare card, and who are not residents of one of the MetrOPAC cities may purchase a Non-Resident Card. Non-Resident Cards entitle you to check out a certain number of items belonging to the Fort Worth Public Library and use Library computers. Non-Resident Cards cannot be used to access the Library's online databases outside of the Library or reserve or check out materials belonging to the MetrOPAC libraries.

There are a number of options for Non-Resident Cards:
- Non-Resident Donor Card
A non-resident individual who donates $100 or more to the Fort Worth Public Library, The Fort Worth Public Library Foundation, or the Friends of the Fort Worth Public Library, Inc. may receive one library card entitling the donor to borrow library materials and use library services free of charge during the time the card is valid. Such card is valid for one year following receipt of the donation for every $100 donated, up to a maximum of five years regardless of the amount donated. - Non-Resident Individual Card
A nonresident individual may purchase a punch card entitling the individual to borrow library materials:- Up to 3 items borrowed $5
- Up to 7 items borrowed $10
- Up to 18 items borrowed $25
- Up to 40 items borrowed $50
- Library services None
- Non-Resident Institutional Card
A corporation, partnership, organization or other form of business entity may pay an annual fee for library materials and services:- Up to 50 items borrowed per month $150 annually
- Use of 1 service per month $150 annually
- Both of the above $300 annually
- Non-Resident Student Card
A nonresident individual who is currently enrolled in any formally-recognized educational institution or being homeschooled, subject to verification by Library staff, may pay a $30 annual fee to borrow unlimited materials. - Non-Resident Volunteer Card
A non-resident individual who has completed 14 hours of volunteer service to the Fort Worth Public Library may receive one library card entitling the volunteer to borrow library materials or use library services free of charge during the time the card is valid. Such card is valid for one year following completion of the above 14 hours and may be renewed upon completion of an additional 14 hours of service. - Non-Resident Student Volunteer Card
A non-resident student (including homeschool students) who has completed 7 hours of volunteer service to the Fort Worth Public Library may receive one library card entitling the volunteer to borrow library materials or use library services free of charge during the time the card is valid. Such card is valid for one year following completion of the above 7 hours and may be renewed upon completion of an additional 7 hours of service.
