Computer Classes at the Library

Bold Library 

Learn standard word processing with Microsoft Word.  The classes cover the basic functions of the program: creating, editing, saving and printing documents; cutting/pasting; formatting text appearance; etc.  Must have basic computer, keyboard and mouse skills. Seating is limited, so please register early.  Register by calling 817-338-1467.

Microsoft Word Basic

  • 1st and 4th Thursday of the month, 10 - 11:30 a.m.

eSkills Library and Job Center 

eSkills Library and Job Center offers a variety of classes including computer classes.  Some require pre-registration.  Please check the class schedule or call 817-392-6621 for more information.

Northwest Branch Library 

Learn standard word processing with Microsoft Word, multipurpose spreadsheets with Microsoft Excel and create presentations with Microsoft PowerPoint.  Seating is limited, so please register early.  Register by calling 817-392-5420.

All classes are from noon - 2 p.m.

Microsoft Word

  • 1st Saturday of every month

Microsoft Excel

  • 2nd Saturday of every month

Microsoft PowerPoint

  • 3rd Saturday of every month

Central Library 

The classes are held downtown at the Central Library in the Intel Computer Lab.  Seating is limited to 25 participants, so please register early. Register by calling 817-392-7701.    No classes offered from Nov. 10 - Dec. 31 due to holidays.

All classes are from 2 - 4 p.m.

E-mail Basics

Hands-on class covers obtaining and using a Web e-mail account, creating and sending messages, plus e-mail do's and don'ts. Must have basic computer, mouse and Internet skills.

Internet Basics

Hands-on class covers history, characteristics, navigation and simple searching. Must have basic computer, keyboard and mouse skills.

Microsoft Office

Hands-on experience learning to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  Microsoft Word portion covers creating, editing, saving and printing documents; cutting/pasting; formatting text appearance; creating numbered and bulleted lists. Microsoft Excel portion covers covers toolbars, rows, columns & cells; navigating ; creating worksheets; using formulas and functions; creating graphs.  Microsoft PowerPoint portion covers creating and editing slide presentations on the computer. Must have basic computer, keyboard and mouse skills.

PC Basics

Class covers the parts of the computer, computer vocabulary, using a mouse, information about purchasing a computer and basic keyboarding skills.

Parking

Parking at the Central Library is available in the 3rd Street Parking Garage at the intersection of 3rd Street and Taylor. Bring your parking receipt to the Check Out Desk for 2-1/2 hours of free parking. Street parking is free after 6:00 pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
