Daughters of the American Colonists | Hon. Phillip Livingston Chapter

History

The Hon. Phillip Livingston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Colonists was organized on October 6, 1958, by Mrs. R. N. Grammer. It was admitted to the National Society in October 13, 1958. The eligibility requirements for membership states, “Any woman who is a citizen of the United States of America, is of good moral character and has attained her eighteenth year, shall be eligible to membership, provided that she shall be acceptable to the Society and shall be the lineal descendant of an ancestor who rendered civil or military service in any of the colonies prior to July 4, 1776.”

The scrapbooks were donated by the Chapter in June 2001.

The Daughters of the American Colonists: The Hon. Phillip Livingston Chapter Scrapbooks consists of 10 scrapbooks documenting the history and events of the stated years. The materials date from 1959-2011, and measure 3.25 linear feet (10 boxes).
