Live Theatre League of Tarrant County Records

History

The Live Theatre League of Tarrant County was established in 1991 when the Circle, Jubilee and Stage West theatres extended an invitation to other live theatres in the area to attend a meeting “…to pursue strategies that will build more support for and interest in good local theatre in this area.” From that meeting and under the guidance of Peg Knapp the Live Theatre League was formed. In 1992, goals were set in the following areas: promotion, audience development, networking and collaboration. The mission of the Live Theatre League of Tarrant County is to ensure the future of live theatre as a cultural asset to the community through promotional, collaborative and educational endeavors. The organization is a volunteer non-profit, run by members of the Board of Directors.
