The Mexican American College Education (MACE) Fund was chartered in 1971. It originally provided scholarship money for Mexican American students. In 1974, it created the “School and Community Guidance Counselors and Tutors Program” with money from a grant under the Emergency School Assistance Act. This program was designed to supplement the local education agency’s regular programs by providing counseling and tutoring services for potential drop outs.
The records were donated to the Library in 1996.
