Pan American Round Table of Fort Worth

History

The Pan American Round Table is an organization of women devoted to better understanding and friendship within the Western Hemisphere. The first round table was organized in San Antonio in 1916. The Fort Worth Chapter was begun in 1944 with Mrs. H. V. Shank as the first chairwoman.

Provenance

The scrapbooks were donated to the Library by the Pan American Round Table of Fort Worth prior to 1990.

Scope and Contents Note

The materials comprise ten scrapbooks dated 1949 - 1983 and include newspaper clippings, photographs, pamphlets, brochures and other items related to the activities of the Fort Worth organization. Some items provide information on the local Hispanic community.
