eSkills Library & Job Center Classes

Classes are held each month at the eSkills Library & Job Center and are conducted by library staff and other partner organizations. Classes are free to the public. Unless otherwise noted, the classes do not require advanced registration.

Citizenship Classes

This course will help students understand: the process, requirements and procedure to apply for U.S. Citizenship. It also will cover topics on frequently used terms, U.S history, important historical documents, U.S. government and the civics’ test 100 questions.

Conversational English

Free conversation classes for adults who want to practice their English in a fun and safe environment! Patrons will use their English conversational skills with others.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code was founded with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology. The Girls Who Code curriculum is designed for students with a wide range of computer science experience. There will be activities for girls with zero computer science experience all the way up to activities that introduce college-level concepts.

Registration is required at 817-392-7745. Students must join the series in the first 3 classes. After the that, no new students are accepted. Each program in the series is for ages 11 - 17 and limited to 20 girls.

Computer Classes (taught in Spanish)

Learn and improve your computer skills. In these free classes, you will learn basic computer concepts, how to use email, the fundamentals of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and strategies for browsing the Internet.

Basic Functions

This class covers the basic functions such as creating/deleting folders, saving/deleting files, copying and pasting and explaining the functions of the operating system.

This class covers the basic description of the Microsoft Office Programs and computer vocabulary.

The Computer Basics class covers the basic functions of the computer such as turning on/off the computer, explain the desktop and icons, opening/closing windows and programs, introducing the keyboard and computer components.

The eMail Basics class covers the basic functions of email such as creating an email, introducing the email commands and sending an email.

The Freegal Music class explains the serive provided by the Fort Worth Library and teaches searching the catalog and downloading music.

This Keyboarding class covers the proper key position, basic functions of the keys and the learning the correct typing techniques.
