eSkills Library & Job Center Classes

Classes are held each month at the eSkills Library & Job Center and are conducted by library staff and other partner organizations. Classes are free to the public. Unless otherwise noted, the classes do not require advanced registration.

Computer Basics

Basic computer class teaches participants how to operate a computer, how to use Microsoft Word and tests typing skills.

E. S. L. Classes

Learn to speak English. These classes free and open to the general public.

Gaming

Wii Gaming, Retropie, PC Gaming and more; all game skills levels welcome, come and enjoy the fun.

Girls Who Code

Girls Who Code was founded with a single mission: to close the gender gap in technology. The Girls Who Code curriculum is designed for students with a wide range of computer science experience. There will be activities for girls with zero computer science experience all the way up to activities that introduce college-level concepts.

  • Thursday, March 28: 6 - 8 p.m.

Registration is required at 817-392-7745. Students must join the series in the first 3 classes. After the that, no new students are accepted. Each program in the series is 120 minutes, for ages 11 - 17 and limited to 20 girls.

GED Classes (taught in English)

Prepare to take the GED. Classes are taught by Tarrant County College District. Registration is required. For additional information and to register, call 817-392-6621.

Intermediate IT Computer

Students learn advanced computer skills necessary to prepare for a career in IT and related fields. Anyone interested in learning these skills are welcome regardless of your career path.

Intermediate IT Computer Orientation

Get information about the upcoming session of classes. The classes will teach advanced computer skills necessary to prepare for a career in IT and related fields. Class is open to anyone interested in learning these skills regardless of their career path.

Keyboarding Basics

Learn how to operate the keyboard, mouse, & monitor. You will learn what fingers to use with what keys, increase your typing speed and learn the in’s and out’s of the keyboard.

Microsoft Excel

Learn to navigate and perform essential functions in Microsoft Excel 2016.

Microsoft PowerPoint

Workshop provides individuals instruction on using Microsoft PowerPoint.

Microsoft Word

Workshop provides individuals instruction on using Microsoft Word.

Computer Classes (taught in Spanish)

Learn and improve your computer skills. In these free classes, you will learn basic computer concepts, how to use email, the fundamentals of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and strategies for browsing the Internet.

Basic Functions

This class covers the basic computer functions such as creating/deleting folders, saving/deleting files, copying and pasting and explaining the functions of the operating system.

Computer Basics

This class covers the basic functions of the computer such as turning on/off the computer, explain the desktop and icons, opening/closing windows and programs, introducing the keyboard and computer components.

Keyboarding I

This class covers the proper key position, basic functions of the keys and the learning the correct typing techniques.
