Mattie Parker was elected in June 2021 as the 45th Mayor of Fort Worth. Mayor Parker’s priorities in office focus on key efforts to bolster Fort Worth’s economic development, improve public safety, expand access to education and workforce opportunities, and preserve the city’s rich heritage with a determination to leave things better than she found them.

Mayor's Council on Education & Workforce

Mayor Parker convened the Mayor’s Council on Education & Workforce in 2022 to influence and enhance educational programs and career pathways in Fort Worth public schools to help prepare students for their future careers, including careers that help meet the current and future needs of business and industry in Fort Worth and North Texas.

Good Natured

Mayor Parker launched the Good Natured green space initiative in 2023 with the vision of creating a future where Fort Worth has the most green space of any city in the United States.
