Housing, Employment and Public Accommodation Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, as amended (Fair Housing Act), state law (Texas Fair Housing Act), and city ordinance (Human Relations Ordinance) prohibit discrimination in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, and familial status.
Human Relations Commission The Civil Rights Office within the Human Resources Department works to enhance public awareness and to foster harmonious human relations throughout the city. To support these efforts, the department provides staff support to the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission (FWHRC) and the Fort Worth Mayor’s Committee on Persons with Disabilities (MCPD), a standing committee of the FWHRC.
Title VI and Accessibility & Accommodations The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment (Title I), public services (Title II), public accommodations (Title III), telecommunications (Title IV), and other miscellaneous provisions (Title V).
