New Year's Day closing schedule

Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Friday, Jan. 1 for the New Year’s Day holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

City council meetings on Dec. 29 and Jan. 5 are canceled. The next meeting will be Jan. 12 at 7 p.m.

There will be no garbage collection on New Year’s Day. Friday pickup will slide to Saturday. Normal pickup schedules resume the following Monday. All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage on their first pickup day following New Year’s Day. If you have questions or need assistance, call 817-392-1234.

The city’s three drop-off stations will be closed New Year’s Day. Stations will close at 5 p.m. the day before the holiday.

The Environmental Collection Center will be closed Jan. 1 and will reopen Jan. 2 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

All libraries normally open on Thursdays, except Butler Outreach Library Division and Cavile Outreach Opportunity Library, will be open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 31. BOLD and COOL will be open from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Patrons will be unable to return items after 2 p.m. on Dec. 31. All libraries and book drops will be closed Jan. 1. Regular hours resume Jan.2.

On Dec. 31, all community centers, the Haws Athletic Center and late-night programs close at 6 p.m. On Jan. 1, most recreation facilities are closed; however, golf courses and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge are open.

The Chuck Silcox Animal Shelter will close for adoptions at 4 p.m. Dec. 31.
