Everybody in the pool! Fort Worth is hiring aquatics staff for the 2016 season.

A lifeguard certification course will be offered beginning early January at the Texas Wesleyan University indoor pool, 1201 Wesleyan St.

Participants must pass a swimming pre-test to qualify. The pre-test consists of a 300-meter swim (front crawl or breaststroke), two-minute treading without using the hands, and a timed event involving retrieving a brick from a depth of 10 feet.

Candidates who pass the tryout must attend an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Course, which will be held on selected weekends January through April.
