A citywide task force focused on improving Fort Worth’s animal shelter wants to know what you think about the facility.

A meeting to receive input from residents is planned for 7 p.m. Feb. 1 at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden Center auditorium, 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd.

Last November, the City Council created an Animal Shelter Task Force, an independent body of experts to look into the operations of the Fort Worth Animal Shelter. A final report is expected by the end of March.

The task force includes Charles Daniels, former Fort Worth and Dallas assistant city manager; Max Dow, director of Texas Animal Health Commission Region 3; James Bias, president of SPCA of Texas; Dustin Deel, director of the Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter; and Patrice Randle, city auditor and a non-voting member.

Additional task force meetings:

  • Feb. 10, 3 p.m., Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, 818 Missouri Ave.
  • Feb. 24, 3 p.m., Hazel Harvey Peace Center for Neighborhoods, 818 Missouri Ave.
  • March 22, 3 p.m., Pre-Council Chamber, City Hall, 1000 Throckmorton St.
