Mayfest continues to get better each year, and Trinity Park is benefiting from the organizing group’s generosity.

The nonprofit organization has agreed to replace a fabric-roof shelter in Trinity Park with a metal-roof structure valued at $25,908. Mayfest will also fund labor and materials to install the structure, to be located in the north end of the park near the train trestle.

The 32-foot-square metal structures are more attractive and can stand up to the North Texas elements so they can be used by park patrons for years to come.

The new structure will be installed by this year’s Mayfest.

In addition, Mayfest will help fund a 14-week internship to catalog and map memorial benches and to develop a plan for future locations along the Trinity Trail system.

Mayfest also agreed to fund a Trinity Park Existing Site Conditions Survey to map amenities and to serve as a guide for locating future improvements. This project is valued at 20,000.

This year’s Mayfest runs April 28-May 1.
