Work on an upcycled art project to keep materials out of the waste stream. You might win a prize for your work.

Think your sustainable New Year’s resolution is a winner? Show how you plan to recycle more or take other steps to cut down on waste by posting a photo to Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #greenfor2016.

Recyclebank will choose multiple winners, and the grand prize is a $500 Amazon gift card.

Here are a few ideas:

  • Recycle all cardboard, paper, metal and glass.
  • Use a reusable water bottle or coffee mug.
  • Shop locally.
  • Compost yard or food waste.
  • Try “Meatless Mondays.”
  • Walk, bike, carpool or take the bus to school.
