The Ivy rain barrel comes with everything you need to collect and use rain water. Barrels can easily be daisy-chained with no added cost.

Spring is a great time to harvest rainwater for use in your garden and to begin your compost bin.

BRIT and the City of Fort Worth are offering a 50-gallon, 100-percent recycled plastic rain barrel for $72.50 and a 65-gallon compost bin for $67.50. The online sale runs Feb. 15-April 4.

Purchase with a credit card online.

Rain barrel and compost bin pickup date will be April 9 from 9 a.m.-noon at BRIT, 1700 University Drive. BRIT is located inside the Fort Worth Botanic Garden complex. Rain barrels and compost bins will not be delivered to your home.

The cumulative effect of rainwater harvesting and composting can have a positive impact on your flower and vegetable gardens and are smart alternatives to watering with tap water and using fertilizers.
