The boil water notice issued Feb. 4, 2016, was rescinded this morning after officials verified that area samples were free of potentially harmful bacteria.
The notice impacted portions of far north Fort Worth. The impacted area was generally bordered by Sendera Boulevard on the north, Willow Springs Road on the west, Haslet city limits on the east and Bonds Ranch Road on the south. The notice also included the Trails of Fossil Creek and the Fossil Hill Estates subdivisions.
Due to a loss of pressure in parts of the system, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Fort Worth to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
An operational error led to the draining of the Bradley elevated water tank on Harmon Road, which resulted in the pressure dropping and a some possible pipe dewatering in the affected areas.
Forty-six samples were collected, and all were negative for coliform bacteria. Necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure were taken, and lab results have been provided to TCEQ.
