Cops For Kids plans run, cook-off, music fest

The Fort Worth Police Officers Association Cops for Kids program has served more than 5,000 disadvantaged children by providing gifts to hospitalized children, scholarship opportunities, school supplies and social activities.

Join many of Fort Worth’s Finest on the banks of the Trinity River at Panther Island Pavilion for the second annual Cops For Kids 5K run, barbecue cook-off, car show and Chisholm Trail Music Festival.

All the proceeds from the March 25-26 event go to support Fort Worth Cops For Kids.

Dozens of barbecue cooking teams will compete for top honors in the meat and beans categories.

The 5K and kids’ fun run will be run along the banks of the Trinity River on March 26. An Easter egg hunt will follow the run.

Early additions to the band lineup include Justin Frazell and Jamie Richards. More acts will be announced soon. General admission is free.

Cops for Kids shows local law enforcment’s concern for children in the community by encouraging them to build stronger family relationships and foster quality friendships, with a focus on education.
