Christmas tree by curb
Live trees up to 8 feet tall can be placed at the curb on your normal garbage pickup day.

Real Christmas trees are biodegradable, which means they can be easily reused or recycled for mulch.

Trees up to 8 feet tall can be placed at the curb on your normal garbage pickup day. Trees taller than 8 feet should be trimmed into sections (each no longer than 8 feet) to be collected during regular curbside brush pickup.

Remove the tree stand and all decorations, nails, plastic bags and other wrappings from the tree. Flocked trees are accepted.

Residents can also drop off trees at one of the city’s drop-off stations:

  • Brennan Drop-off Station, 2400 Brennan Ave.
  • Southeast Drop-off Station, 5150 Martin Luther King Freeway.
  • Old Hemphill Road Drop-off Station, 6260 Old Hemphill Road.

The stations are open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday. Closed New Year’s Day. Stations close at 5 p.m. the day before holidays.

Trees will be mulched along with any brush collected.
