The city’s Transportation and Public Works Department is hosting a community meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 to discuss installation of a waterline, replacement of the existing wastewater line and construction of an underground storm drain system in the Greenfield Acres area. The meeting will take place at Ed Willkie Middle School, 6129 Texas Shiner Drive.

Construction is scheduled to begin in June and last approximately one year.

An underground storm drain system will be constructed on Cindy Lane, from Ten Mile Bridge to North Ridge Road, and on East North Hill Lane. The existing storm drain on the west end of South Ridge Road will be upsized and a new storm drain with two detention ponds will be constructed on the east end of South Ridge Road. A waterline will be installed on Cindy Lane, and the existing wastewater line will be replaced along Cindy Lane and South Ridge Road.

After construction is complete, Cindy Lane will be repaved.

This $5.3 million project is being funded from the stormwater bonds and water and sewer capital project funds.
