Eastside Blossoms, an effort to beautify east Fort Worth by planting flowering trees along roadways, parkways and in parks, has received two significant donations recently, Chairman Jerry L. Barton said.

Jean and John V. Roach donated funds for improving the entry into Gateway Park from East First Street.

An Amon G. Carter Foundation grant of $35,000 will go toward planting redbud trees along the boundary between Quanah Parker Park and Randol Mill Road. The City of Fort Worth agreed to plant and maintain the trees.

Eastside Blossoms is a project of East Fort Worth Inc., a nonprofit economic development corporation committed to improving and marketing the quality of life in east Fort Worth.
