Volunteers will work with crops at the city's tree nursery during the Week of Compassionate Service.

The City of Fort Worth’s Forestry Section is participating in Mayor Betsy Price’s Week of Compassionate Service, Jan. 21-29.

Their activity is a work day at Rolling Hills Tree Farm, 2525 Joe B. Rushing Road, from 9 a.m.-noon on Jan. 21. Volunteers will be working with the city’s Forestry Section to transplant, weed, water and organize tree seedlings at the city-owned tree farm. Over the next few years, those trees will be planted throughout Fort Worth to help improve air and water quality and to create more beautiful spaces.

Price is encouraging individuals, civic groups, faith-based groups and others to get involved in event by organizing service projects throughout the week.
