The newly-installed Level 2 charger allows for a wide range of charging speeds.

Fort Worth drivers have a new place to get a charge for their electric vehicles (EVs).

A new charging station is at the Guinn School Complex, 1150 South Freeway, for a 12-month pilot program.

Revitalize Charging Solutions (RCS) is a startup environmental company based in Fort Worth. Despite the increased use of EVs, there are relatively few charging stations in Fort Worth to address consumer concerns that a battery could run out of charge and strand a driver far from a recharging station.

RCS and the City of Fort Worth initiated a pilot program to install a charging station at the city’s Facility Management building, 1110 Taylor St., in October 2015. The pilot program ran for six months, with positive results including 12 registered users and an average of two charging sessions per day.
