The Buffalo Boogie course is friendly to baby strollers and dogs, along with human runners.

Run or walk a mile, 5K or 10K on May 13 to help support the herd of buffalo that make their home at the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge.

Registration for the 25th annual Buffalo Boogie is $30 per person through May 12. Race-day registration is $35.

The nature center is at 9601 Fossil Ridge Road. There is no gate fee during the event.

Explore the 3,621-acre preserve, one of Fort Worth’s hidden jewels. The scenic route traverses shaded bottomlands along the West Fork of the Trinity River and transitions into open prairie savannahs. The route concludes along the bison range where participants might spot one of these majestic animals in their native habitat.

The route is paved, shady, quiet and baby stroller-friendly. Registration for dogs is $5 and includes a bandana. The first 750 human registrants will receive a Buffalo Boogie T-shirt.

After the walk/run, enjoy live music, entertaining and educational games, face painting, clowns, balloon artists, exhibits and lots of good food.
