Fire Station 26 will be closed for about six weeks, but crews will work out of nearby stations.

Fire Station 26 at 6124 S. Hulen St. will be temporarily closed for urgent repairs.

Beginning April 20, Station 26 will undergo urgent repairs, including work on HVAC systems, demolition and mold remediation. The work is expected to take about six weeks.

During this period, the two fire crews housed at Station 26 will relocate to nearby fire stations. Quint 26 will respond from Station 39, 7655 Oakmont Blvd. Engine 26 will respond from Station 36, 5045 Columbus Trail.

Residents should not see a significant increase in response times from surrounding fire stations.

Signs will be posted at Station 26 advising residents to call 911 to report an emergency. All Fort Worth Fire Department emergency calls are dispatched to the closest unit based on GPS location and shortest response time rather than proximity of fire stations. Because of this, residents are encouraged to call 911 to report an emergency.
