Scout Harrell won the most votes in the Intersection Design Contest, so her pavement design will be featured at a well-traveled Six Points intersection later this year.

The city sought intersection pavement designs that add creative colors and patterns and reflect the artistic nature of the local community. Four semifinalists were chosen by a panel of judges and put to a public vote. Harrell won 45 percent of the vote.

Other semifinalists were Axel Gaona, Heidi Scheurmann and Debra Warr.

Harrell’s winning design will be incorporated into the intersection construction of Race Street and Sylvania Avenue as part of the Six Points Urban Village Streetscape Project. A ribbon cutting is scheduled for November 2018.

“We want to thank everyone for participating in this competition, from the artists to department staff and the entire online voting community,” said District 9 Councilmember Ann Zadeh.
