What are the sources of Fort Worth’s drinking water? What’s in the water? And what is Fort Worth doing about lead service lines?

All those questions and more are answered in Fort Worth’s annual drinking water quality report. The report, based on 2016 data, is available online in English and Spanish.

Water utilities are required by the federal government to compile the annual water quality report. The report contains information on what’s in the water, how substances may get into the water and the sources for our drinking water. The report also has information about lead in drinking water and the city’s efforts to eliminate lead service lines.

Water customers will receive notices about the report’s availability in upcoming bills. Postcards notifying apartment residents are also being mailed.

By June 1, free printed copies will be available at all Fort Worth public libraries, community centers, municipal golf courses, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden and the Water Department’s customer service station at 908 Monroe St.

Additional copies can be requested by calling 817-392-4477. Organizations or businesses may request multiple copies to distribute to their members, employees or the public. Speakers are also available to meet with groups to discuss the report.
