Get ready for a fun day of family-oriented activities, music and water shows along the Trinity River, capped by a spectacular fireworks show.

It’s not too early to start making plans for July Fourth. In its 10th year, Fort Worth’s Fourth is celebrating our nation’s independence along the Trinity River. The family-friendly festival returns to Panther Island Pavilion on July 4. And as always, general admission, tubing and KidZone activities are free.

Gates open at 2 p.m.; the fireworks show begins about 10 p.m.

Expect a fun-filled afternoon of family activities, tubing and flyboard shows. Enjoy live music from self-proclaimed Tex-Mex honky-tonk band, the Tejas Brothers. Food, soda, water and beer will be available for purchase.

As the sun goes down, the sounds of Party Machine will fill the evening air. The high-energy band will play dance favorites and pump up the crowd for the spectacular fireworks finale. On the shore stage, three local bands will compete in the Battle of the Bald Eagle contest. Flyboarders will perform lively shows on the river between music acts, then right before the fireworks show lights up the sky, the jet-pack flyboarders will light up the river.

KidZone activities throughout the day will include pony rides, face painting, bounce houses and zip lines. Plus, the popular levee and water slides are back to provide hours of old-fashioned fun for the young and young at heart.

VIP Experience pass holders will enjoy perks such as an excellent view of the fireworks and water shows, reserved seating and a shaded lounge area. Access to a cash bar, air-conditioned restrooms and VIP parking pass sweeten the deal. New for 2017 is the fully air-conditioned Skybox where guests can get out of the heat and into the cool. Purchase VIP passes.

The celebration is produced by the Trinity River Vision Authority.
