Starting Sunday, July 9, east and westbound I-30 will have the existing pavement removed and a new surface installed from Oakland Boulevard east to I-820, weather permitting.

Various lanes will be closed during construction and potentially reduced to one lane. Closures will be scheduled during off-peak hours Sunday through Thursday nights to minimize impact to motorists.

The overlay is part of the $4.6 million project which will improve mobility and safety by removing existing pavement, repairing the roadway and then overlaying it with a new asphalt surface. The three-mile project is estimated for completion in the spring of 2018.

The Texas Department of Transportation is handling the project.
