After entering the main gates on University Drive, the Deborah Beggs Moncrief Garden Center is your first stop to learn what’s new at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.

Beginning Aug. 14, all visitors should enter the Fort Worth Botanic Garden through the main entry at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd., identified from University Drive by the floral clock. Other entrances to the garden will be closed on weekdays.

The changes will be in place for a six-week trial period. The gate closures will not occur on weekends and holidays.

There are no new parking, admission or other fees associated with this change. Streets will remain open and visitors can access the Gardens Restaurant, Treasure Tree Gift Shop, Japanese Garden, Rose Gardens and street parking as usual.

A single entry point will result in a better visitor experience and improved traffic management. The garden center was designed as the primary garden entry and provides various visitor amenities. Staff and volunteers there can share seasonal highlights of the garden, provide maps and directions and offer other information and assistance.

“This opportunity to properly orient visitors ensures they will enjoy the best experience while at the garden,” said Botanic Garden Superintendent Bob Byers. “Information on educational programs, dining opportunities, garden events and other botanical garden services typically not found in city parks will also benefit frequent visitors already familiar with the facilities.”

Additionally, reducing traffic through the south end of the garden will increase enjoyment of the garden and improve visitor safety by limiting pedestrian/vehicle conflicts while also easing traffic conflicts on University Drive.
