Fort Worth Animal Care & Control encourages residents to attend any of three adoption events this holiday season. The staff hopes to make wishes come true for the nearly 600 dogs and cats being cared for in shelters and to find each of them a loving home.

Every pet that comes through the doors of the Fort Worth Animal Shelter has a story — often one of being abandoned and left to survive wandering the streets. More than 16,000 animals land at the shelter each year. It’s the goal of the shelter to find loving a home for each of these incredible pets.

Choose from these upcoming holiday events:

  • Black Friday Adoption Event. All adoption fees will be waived. The event will be held Nov. 24-26 at PetSmart Hulen, 4800 S.W. Loop 820, and PetSmart Alliance, 2901 Texas Sage Trail. Also, Nov. 25-26 at the Chuck Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center, 4900 Martin St.
  • Subaru Share the Love Holiday Adoption Event. Adoption fees will be reduced to $10 per pet at Hiley Subaru, 3505 W. Loop 820, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 9.
  • Pet Photos with Santa. Stop in to one of the PetSmart adoption centers for a free professional photo with Santa — with your current pet or your newly adopted dog or cat. Adoption fees will be reduced to $10 per pet from noon-4 p.m. Dec. 9-10 and Dec. 16-17.

Adoption fees include an initial medical examination, rabies vaccination, city license, micro-chip and spay/neuter services.
