Do you know a teen who’s considering attending college, but isn’t sure how to start the process?

At 10 a.m. on Dec. 9, the Fort Worth Central Library, 500 W. Third St, will host a session of Launch Pad, which empowers high school students with information and materials necessary to apply for college by providing free individual and small-group college application counseling services.

The Launch Pad coordinator assists students in preparing their applications and application essays to demonstrate college readiness, insightful thought and polished responses.

The two-hour session explores a variety of topics, including:

  • Can I go to college and what are my options?
  • What do I need to do to get into a college?
  • What are colleges looking for in the applications and the application essays?
  • How do I get financial aid for college?
