Blue Zones Project ended 2017 on a healthy note

Representatives of new Blue Zones Project approved entities gather at City Hall to be recognized by the City Council.

Blue Zones Project entered 2018 under full steam, as the well-being improvement initiative now counts more than 70,000 participants who have taken the Personal Pledge or attended Blue Zones Project activities.

The number of worksites, restaurants, schools, organizations and faith-based communities that have joined the movement has also swelled to more than 250, bringing the city closer to becoming a certified Blue Zones Community.

Many of those were recognized at the Dec. 12 City Council meeting, including Freese and Nichols which was the 100th Blue Zones Project Approved worksite in the city.
