Bike lanes being added to streets near TCU

Upcoming projects will restripe streets around the TCU campus during Spring Break and make circulation improvements to Park Hill Drive/Forest Park Boulevard after Spring Break, weather permitting.

Bike lanes will be added to these streets:

  • Bellaire Drive North from Alton, east to University Drive.
  • Stadium Drive between Bellaire Drive North and Cantey Street.
  • Cantey Street between Stadium Drive and University Drive.
  • Forest Park Boulevard between Park Hill Drive and the traffic split at McCart Avenue.

The existing number of travel lanes will be maintained on all roadways.

The bike lane improvements will improve pedestrian safety by reducing the amount of roadway space needed to cross and will improve the pedestrian experience by moving vehicles away from the sidewalks.

Wayfinding signage between TCU and the Trinity Trails is included in this plan. Existing crosswalks are also being restriped.

Work adjacent to the TCU campus is scheduled to begin during Spring Break (March 12-16) to reduce conflicts with students, and outside of the spring break time frame for Park Hill Drive and Forest Park Boulevard.

The $200,000 project is funded by the 2014 bond program approved by voters.
