This map shows the locations of new quiet zones along the TEXRail tracks.

Seven TEXRail crossings have been designated quiet zones, meaning trains will not sound their horns at those crossings unless a safety issue is present.

The City Council approved quiet zones for these crossings:

  • East First Street.
  • 29th Street.
  • Decatur Avenue.
  • Schwartz Avenue.
  • Deen Road.
  • Sylvania Avenue.
  • Beach Street.

The new quiet zones are expected to be approved by the Federal Railroad Administration and be fully established in the first quarter of 2019.
