Tarleton State University President F. Dominic Dottavio presented the 2019 Excellence Through Leadership Award to Mayor Betsy Price.

The President’s Legacy Awards recognize individuals and supporters who exhibit Tarleton’s core values of tradition, integrity, civility, leadership, excellence and service. Recipients are selected by the university president.

The Excellence Through Leadership Award recognizes accomplishment in the recipient’s field and demonstrated achievements that bring credit to Tarleton State University.

Price’s support for the new Tarleton campus in Fort Worth campus has been an integral part of the project’s success.

“We are extremely grateful to Mayor Price for her continued support of our permanent home in Fort Worth,” Dottavio said. “She was with us in Sundance Square when we first announced our plans in 2014 and has backed us every step of the way. Mayor Price’s strong commitment to quality education and economic growth throughout North Texas make her a deserving recipient of this year’s Excellence Through Leadership Award. Thanks to that commitment we open the doors to the first building of our planned Fort Worth campus this fall, expanding access and opportunities for students and preparing a stronger workforce for area business and industry.”
