Run alongside Fort Worth’s Bravest in the 21st annual Firemen’s 5K and 10K on May 25 at Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Road.

The Firemen’s 5K was established in 1999 by Gary Stevenson in memory of two firefighters who died while fighting a church fire in Lake Worth. The run began as a way to benefit the families, and the families later decided to continue the 5K in memory of Phillip Dean and Brian Collins.

Proceeds benefit Compassionate Friends and The WARM Place, two organizations that provide grief support when a loved one has died.

In 2014, the Firemen’s 5K Scholarship Fund was established for graduating seniors of Castleberry High School and children of Fort Worth and River Oaks firefighters.
