Backyard Jazz Concert coming to Summerglen Library

Rachella Parks-Washington is a Fort Worth-based saxophonist who performs a mixture of gospel, jazz and pop.

Enjoy a special, free Backyard Jazz Concert 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 13, at the Fort Worth Public Library-Summerglen, 4205 Basswood Blvd.

Bring blankets and chairs to enjoy the soulful sounds of Rachella Parks-Washington. The outdoor event is part of the library’s 10th anniversary celebration of the 3rd Thursday Jazz Concert Series.

In addition to the concert, the library will provide games for the whole family to enjoy. The Fort Worth Fire Department will give tours of their engine. Representatives from Tarrant County College and the Summerfields Neighborhood Association will be on hand. Food will be available for purchase from Jo Dawgs and Both Worlds Mexican & American Cuisine.

After the concert, head inside the Summerglen Library to enjoy the air conditioning and check out the amazing jazz collection. Library cardholders who check out items from the jazz collection will receive a free gift.
